11 Div Troops Build Home for their Civil Staffer

11 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) considering the pathetic plight of a civil employee working for the 11 Division Headquarters in Kandy who lost his daughter after a boulder fell on his house roof at night while all were asleep in the year 2017, took steps to construct a new house in a 7-perch piece of land given to him by the Divisional Secretariat of Gangawata Korale in Hindagala, Doluwa area in Peradeniya.

The new home, constructed by Army troops with the support of Ven Embilgama Pangnnatissa Nayake Thero, Incumbent at Hindagala Raja Maha Viharaya who supplied all raw-materials needed for the construction at his cost, was vested in him during a simple ceremony on Thursday (27) amid religious observances.

The 7-year old Udari Shehara of Hindagala, Mahakanda Peradeniya succumbed to injuries on 28 October 2017 when a huge rock boulder following a landslide during the dead of the night fell on the roof of the house and killed the little girl who was fast asleep in her bed. As a result, the father of the victim who has been serving the 11 Division Headquarters for more than 3 ½ years became helpless as he was short of money for repairs or to buy a new land for his own house.

However, his condition was brought to the notice of the Divisional Secretary who finally allocated a 7-perch state land for construction of his new house. Major General T.J Nanayakkara, General Officer Commanding, 11 Division got his troops to erect the new house through their technical and vocational skills.

Major General Nanayakkara at the auspicious minute warmed the house with the beneficiary and handed over the key to the new house in the presence of Divisional Secretariat officials, family members and well-wishers.

Ven Embilgama Pangnnatissa Nayake Thero, incumbent at Hindagala Raja Maha Viharaya was also present at the location.buy shoes | Nike Shoes
