Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) Major General Ranjan Premalal on Monday (10) laid the corner-stone for construction of a new house for one of the SLCMP's differently able Lance Corporals who turned disabled following an accident.
The new construction, to be erected to coincide with the Commander's visionary 'Complete Housing Project - Phase V' is to be built at Thalambuwa in Mahawa. 1 SLCMP troops under the supervision of Major R.M.N Rathnayake, Commanding Officer 1 SLCMP expect to complete the project as soon as possible with funds, made available by the Directorate of Veteran Affairs, 1 SLCMP troops and a few philanthropists to the value of Rs 1.8 million.
The beneficiary, belonging to the 1st Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police is currently receiving treatment, recuperation and rehabilitation at the Ragama Ranaviru Sevana in view of serious injuries he sustained in an accident.
Major General Ranjan Premalal at the auspicious minute among chanting of 'Seth Pirith' laid the foundation-stone for the construction of this new home.
