‘Wanni Innoveta - 2016’ to be Showcased at Anuradhapura Salgadu Grounds

A press conference on the forthcoming ‘Wanni Innoveta - 2016’, which has been designed to innovate and display new creative skills of Wanni Army personnel as well as students at Rajarata University and public schools, was held at the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (SLEME) Headquarters premises, Malay Street, Colombo-2 on Wednesday (27).

Major General Boniface Parera, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni (SF-W) presided the press conference, attended by Mr Aruna Warahena, Chief Engineer at National Engineering Research and Development Centre and explained to the Media the importance behind the conduct of the ‘Wanni Innoveta - 2016’ at Salgadu ground, Anuradhapura during July 29 - 31.

The press conference was told that the mammoth exhibition has been actively contributed to by the Sri Lanka Police, North Central Province Education Ministry, National Engineering Research and Development Centre, Rajarata University, Kidney Prevention and Research Bureau and a few other agencies.

Major General Boniface Perera told the Media that ‘Wanni Innoveta - 2016’ would open new heights in different spheres of technology, machinery, science and other new spheres of innovations where Army personnel too would contribute in a broader manner for the express objective of bringing out hidden talents of young Army personnel and all other contributors, including school students.

The ‘Wanni Innoveta’ in 2015 was a resounding success which gave birth to a number of new innovative inventions which had been appreciated and taken over by respective authorities for further improvement and reproduction.
