'Tharunyata Hetak' Spearheads Mammoth Medical Camp in Mannar

The medical section of the ‘Tharunyata Hetak’, chaired by Hon Namal Rajapaksa, Member of Parliament (MP), together with 30 medical consultants, made for Mannar on Saturday (12) and conducted a well-attended clinic, attracting more than 2000 patients with various ailments and sicknesses.
 
541, 542, 543 Brigade Commanders in coordination with the Mannar Medical Officer of Health organized the mammoth humanitarian project under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni and General Officer Commanding, 54 Division.

The full-day clinic, held at Wannamottai Roman Catholic Tamil Vidyalaya provided consultations and medicine to civilians, affected with physical ailments, dental decays, maternal problems, vision impairments, ENT ailments, skin diseases, etc and over 580 pairs of spectacles after medical check-ups.

The 120-member strong team with 30 doctors, nurses, pharmacists, attendants and labourers was led by Dr. Chula Senaratne, Coordinating Medical Officer of the Tharunyata Hetak organization. The inauguration of the medical camp was attended by Dr. N. Fareed, Mannar Medical Superintendent, Brigadier M.A.M Dias, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division and a few other invitees.
