'Sith Ru Udana' Art Exhibition Takes Shape at SFHQ-C


The third phase of art exhibition ‘Sith Ru Udana’ showing over 65 paintings, drawn by veteran artists Mr. Bandula Harischandra and his spouse, Mrs. Kusum Mangalika was held at 2 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) on Friday (7).

On the directions of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake the event was organized by the Directorate of Psychological Operations at the Army Headquarters.

The first and second stages were held at Mihindu Seth Medura, Attidiya and the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Panagoda with the active participation of thousands of officers and other ranks.
 
Paintings depicted history, culture, heritage and natural resources of our motherland. The aim of the event was to give mental relief to partly able war heroes in this healing home. Inmates witnessed the paintings with interest and enthusiasm.

Brigadier M.M Kithsiri, Brigade Commander, 111 Division graced the opening ceremony as the chief guest. Lieutenant Colonel W.M.P.M.M Karunathilake, Staff Officer of 111 Brigade, Army officers and other ranks and Police Officers were present at the event.
