Hindu devotees on their annual ‘Paada Yathra’ pilgrimage to Kataragama across the roads, adjoining the coastal beach along the North Eastern border were provided with dinner by 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops serving the 242 Brigade of 24 Division when they reached Komari, Pottuvil on Tuesday (17) to perform rituals at Pottuvil Murugan Kovil.
A few Kurukkals (Hindu priests) in the area, together with Ven Warakapola Indrasara Thero, Incumbent at Muhudu Maha Viharaya, Pottuvil, welcomed them on arrival and provided facilities.
