  • SFHQ-MLT Celebrates New Year

    Officers, other rankers and civil employees of the Security Forces Headquarters Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) held a festival to mark the New Year 2015 on Friday (10). This was organized on the directions of Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT. Commander, SFHQ-MLT distributed gift parcels to the civil employees after the tea party.

  • LTTE Terrorists Robbed Fishing Boats Given Back Free

    FISHING TRAWLERS, boats and boat engines, captured from Mullaittivu district previous LTTE terrorist bases during the final phases of the Wanni Humanitarian Operations, were vested again in the fishing community Monday (3) morning at a simple ceremony, held close to the beach, near Mullaittivu District Secretariat. Major General Athula Jayawardene, Commander, Security Forces, Mullaittivu, on the instructions of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, made arrangements to bring down all those captured LTTE boats and boat engines that can be made operational from remote areas such as Welioya, Oddusuddan, Puthukkuddiyiruppu, etc under his command.

  • Artillery Anniversary Gives Pride of Place to Memory of Fallen SLA War Heroes

    Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment (SLA), one of the most prestigious and admired regiments in the Army on Sunday (20), commemorated its 126th anniversary with a series of events at its SLA Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda. Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army added dignity and significance as the Chief Guest for the peak of commemorative ceremonies at the invitation of SLA Colonel Commandant, Major General Jagath Rambukpotha.
  • Pallai Ground Lights up With Mega Musical Show

    With the aim of giving mental relaxation to re-settlers and to build goodwill towards security forces, 55 Division organized a mega musical show backed  by the renowned musical group ‘Seeduwa Sakura’;  coloured by rehabilitated Ex-combatant who sung together with veteran artists at Palai Public Ground on Wednesday (29). 
  • Army Cricketers Do It Again

    Army cricketers showed their colours once again beating Colombo Cricket Club by 114 runs in the three-day long  Premier League Tier ‘B’ cricket match conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket. The match at CCC grounds at Colombo between 16-18 March made Army cricketers win 7 outrights out of their 9 matches since the Army offered a tough tussle throughout the match.
  • Probe Into LTTE'S Intrusion on Army Website

    ARMY intelligence has launched an extensive investigation on the LTTE's intrusion over the Sri Lanka Army's official website (www.army.lk), according to Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara.The Sri Lanka Army Website was hacked and technically `assassinated' by suspected Tiger terrorists or their proxies, during the wee hours on Friday, May 1, by inserting some gruesome images. However, Sri Lanka Army experts successfully restored their hacked website in a couple of hours.
