  • Troops Organize Donation of 24 Limbs

    Spreading the wings of humanitarian assistance to the affected community in Ampara area, the 24 Division Headquarters under the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) was generous in donating 24 artificial limbs among needy civilians in the area, some of who have been affected in the war and turned disable.
  • Underprivileged Family Receives a New House

    Soldiers of 3rd Sri Lanka National Guard (3 SLNG) serving with 233 Brigade under the 23 Division in East, in a simple ceremonially handed over the keys of a newly constructed house to an underprivileged family, recently (10).  Financial assistance was given by Mrs Vishaka Dharmadasa, President of the   ‘War Affected Women’ Association. 3 SLNG soldiers provided the manpower for the construction. 

  • Railway Track to Omanthai Nearing Completion

  • Two more LTTE Suicide Boats & Three Vehicles Found

    MULLAITTIVU: 53 DIVISION troops, commanded by Major General KAMAL GUNERATHNE during extended search and clear operations in KARAYANMULLIVAIKKAL area where they recovered a 55-ft long LTTE suicide boat uncovered two more suicide boats, two armour-plated unicorn vehicles and one buffel vehicle by Wednesday (13) evening. Explosive- laden boats and other three passangers movement  vehicles had been covered with foliage when they were recovered by the troops.

  • Army Weight-Lifters Win All-Island Championship

    Sri Lanka Army weight-lifters won the overall National Championship (men’s) at the recent All-Island Shakthi Weight-Lifting Tournament, held at Wadduwa Vijaya Kumarathunga auditorium, beating eight more rival teams.  Accordingly, Sri Lanka Army participants in (59 kg), (66 kg), (74 kg) and (120 + kg) secured 4 Gold medals, making 5 new National Records.
