  • COMMANDER LISTENS TO HARDSHIPS OF AFFECTED FAMILIES OF ARMED FORCES

    Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shantha Kottegoda, Mrs. Sonia Kottegoda, President Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) and a representative group of ASVU were in down south on Sunday (09) with the intention of exploring further possibilities of extending humanitarian assistance to affected families of the Armed Forces and displaced civilians.

    Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Admiral Daya Sandagiri and Army Commander Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka with a view to taking stock of the ground realities, visited Mannar Saturday (14) morning in the company of several Senior Officers. During the tour both service chiefs spoke to a cross section of the Security Forces personnel deployed in the area and inquired into their welfare, etc. Admiral Daya Sandagiri and Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka returned to Colombo Saturday (14) evening.
