  • MULTI-COLOURED ARMY FLAGS ADORN SRI MAHA BODHI PRECINCTS

    Religious ceremonies of Buddhist faith that were precursors of a series of commemorative events to occur in connection with the forthcoming Army Day (10th October) and its 56th Anniversary were inaugurated at break of Saturday (01) at Anuradhapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi sacred premises where 260 flags of the Sri Lanka Army were blessed.
  • Players of 1 SLAWC win the cup in Inter Regiment Netball Competition-2005

    The first battalion of Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps (SLAWC) won the trophy Champion beating nine teams vied for the final Cup in the Inter Regiment Netball Competition –2005 on 14th October 2005 at the Army Headquarters grounds. Major General Sarath Fonseka, Chief of Staff, Sri Lanka Army was the Chief Guest.

    New Inspector General of Police (IGP), Chandra Fernando, met Major General Sunil Thennekoon, Commander Security Forces Jaffna [SF (J)], on Monday (18) during his first official visit to the Jaffna Peninsula after assuming the new office.
  • SLLI EMERGES BEST ALL ROUNDER

    The Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI) emerged the Best all round Regiment within the Army Cantonment at Panagoda, Homagama having won the General Officer Commanding Challenge Trophy at the inaugural Inter Regimental Competitions conducted by Head Quarters 11 Division to coincide with the 54th Army Day that fell on 10th October 2003.
