    Chief of the Naval Staff, India Admiral Arun Prakash PVSM AVSM VrC VSM ADC who is currently on a goodwill visit to Sri Lanka paid a courtesy call on the Acting Commander of the Army, Major General A. M. C. W. B. Seneviratne on Monday (13) morning at his office at the Army Headquarters.

    AMPARA: TWO ARMED LTTE TERRORISTS at about 3.30 - 4.00 a.m. on Tuesday (20) held a pistol to the head of one of the two doctors who were Sinhalese working at the THIRUKKOVIL hospital and threatened to kill them unless they left the hospital immediately.     Contemporary military leader par excellence, Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa RWP RSP VSV USP rcds psc, the archetype of Sri Lankan soldier and one of the most loved, ardent and illustrious advocates of peace exactly thirteen years ago on a day like today (8th August), made the supreme sacrifice with nine other War Heroes in an LTTE orchestrated explosion at Araly Point in Kayts, Jaffna. His death anniversary with other fallen heroes is commemorated today in Anuradhapura, Jaffna, Vavuniya and many other areas in the island.
