SEVERAL AREAS OF DISCUSSION, including the progress of the proposed Anuradhapura Wellness Resort, future fund-raising schemes with sale of T-shirts/caps under the motto, “Brave Hearts” and pre-school sports meets were taken up during the monthly meeting of the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB).

The meeting, presided by Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB took place at the SVAB auditorium on Friday (22) in the Army Headquarters.

The monthly meeting also focused final arrangements being organized for the ceremony, scheduled during the weekend, graced by Mrs Shiranthi Rajapaksa, the First Lady.  Mrs Nilu Ranaweera, a senior SVAB member on the occasion donated two dozens of tennis balls for the use of children at SVAB pre-school.

The meeting also felicitated Mrs Inoka Karunarathne, former Seva Vanitha President, Sri Lanka Women’s Corps and Mrs Upamalika Sooriarachchi, former President, Seva Vanitha Engineering Services during the latter part of the monthly meeting. Their contribution to the Seva Vanitha movement in the Army came in for praise of all those who were present at the meeting.
