Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Unit organized a brief ceremony on Saturday (9) to offer donations to War Heroes and scholarships to their children.

This simple ceremony, held at the auditorium of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, Army cantonment, Panagoda was headed by Army Seva Vanitha Branch President, Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya as the Chief Guest.

A sum of Rs. 1,250,000/= were distributed among a selected lot of disable War Heroes who are in need of capital investment to initiate construction their own houses. Twelve wheelchairs and eleven sets of toilet commodes were also distributed among War Heroes who are in need of them.

Five more scholarships that cover a period of one year were also donated to children of War Heroes  by the Chief Guest on the occasion.
