THE newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff General Sarath Fonseka Wednesday (22) morning called on His Excellency, the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces after General Fonseka assumed duties in the new office.
 
Meanwhile, the new Navy Commander Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe paid a courtesy call on His Excellency, the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Wednesday (22) morning.
 
President Rajapaksa extended his best wishes on new appointments and appreciated the roles played by tri services during the recently concluded humanitarian operation in Wanni.
