Thanks to the patronage, extended by a section of undergraduates at Sri Jayawardenapura University, the Army School of Logistics (ASL) at Trincomalee recently organized a free distribution of clothes among 250 displaced families at Killiweddi Relief Camp.
ASL Commandant, Staff Officers, Other Ranks, together with a representative team of those donors, visited the relief camp and gave away gift parcels containing ready-made garments, sarees, shirts, slacks and other varieties of clothes among the inmates.
Meanwhile, a new canteen, ‘Nuga Piyasa’ built for the use of all staff in the ASL was recently declared open by Major General E.K.J.K Wijesiri, Provost Marshal at the invitation of the ASL Commandant.
In the meantime, a building renovated and converted to be a holiday bungalow for both officers and other ranks was opened to the users during a recent ceremony at the ASL premises.
Major General Lal Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, East following an invitation, made by the ASL Commandant opened it after religious observances.
